In honor of Children's Day, the Kazakh Veterinary Research Institute held on June 1, 2026an exhibition, "Creativity of Young Artists," featuring drawings created with the participation of the children of its employees. The exhibition featured drawings on various topics, demonstrating the children's imagination and creativity. On May 26, 2026, a sectional meeting of the International scientific and practical conference on the topic: “Sustainable development of animal husbandry, breeding, improvement of animal health and veterinary welfare”, organized by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Department of Zooengineering and Veterinary Science of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic: “Development of agricultural science and scientific support for the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan: theory, methodology, practice” was held at the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute LLP, dedicated to the scientific activities of Academician of the NAS RK Kaliyev G.A. Scientists from KazSRVI, KazRIAНFР, and KazNAIU, along with agricultural specialists, heads of innovative research companies, veterinary businesses, young scientists, and the media, participated in the meeting. Fourteen reports were presented on current issues in veterinary science, biological safety, the epizootology of infectious and invasive diseases, livestock breeding, selection, and genetics of farm animals, as well as modern approaches to developing the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Meeting participants emphasized the significant role of zootechnical and veterinary science in ensuring the country's food security, increasing livestock productivity, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex.
On May 20, 2026, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University hosted a guest lecture featuring Asiya Kiblashevna Musayeva, a professor at the Kazakh Veterinary Research Institute and Doctor of Biological Sciences. From May 12 to 14, 2026, KazSRVI staff participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference in the Republic of Tajikistan, dedicated to the implementation of innovative and digital technologies in the diagnosis and monitoring of infectious diseases in animals and birds. The conference included meetings with leading scientists and specialists in veterinary science, biosafety, and agriculture, during which prospects for further international scientific collaboration were discussed. A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, aimed at developing joint scientific research, exchanging experience, and implementing international projects. A cooperation agreement was concluded with the Tajik Agrarian University, providing for the development of academic ties, research internships, and joint educational initiatives.
On May 7, Defender of the Fatherland Day, KazSRVI held a celebratory event in honor of the institute's men. As part of the celebration, a special photo zone was set up for employees, and commemorative gifts were presented.
On April 19, 2026, the Almaty Half Marathon took place for the ninth time. Among the runners were our colleagues: Erden, Erubai, Kobeyhan, Nurzhan, Nurai, and Aigul. These young people not only supported the idea of a healthy lifestyle but also completed the race with dignity, proving that youth, science, and sport go hand in hand.
KazSRVI is expanding international cooperation in Central Asia. As part of the strategic roadmap to obtain WOAH Reference Centre status for Enzootic Bovine Leukosis, a delegation from the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute paid a working visit to Kyrgyzstan, where a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Arstanbek Duisheev Kyrgyz Scientific Research Veterinary Institute.
On April 12, KazSRVI held a roundtable discussion to celebrate Scientists' Day, which coincides with the birthday of the first president of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences, the distinguished geologist Kanysh Satpayev. During the event, staff from the institute, the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, and doctoral students from the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University presented reports on a wide range of topics and shared their research findings. A special part of the event was the awards ceremony, the winner of which was determined by a general secret vote.
From March 14 to 23, a series of festive events was held as part of the Nauryznama ten-day celebration, with each day dedicated to a specific theme: March 14 – Day of Meetings and Greetings, March 15 – Charity Day, March 16 – Day of Culture and National Traditions, March 17 – Family and Family Values Day, March 18 – National Attire Day, March 19 – Renewal Day, March 20 – National Sports Day, March 21 – Solidarity Day, March 22 – New Year, and March 23 – Cleanup Day. The events were organized in accordance with the theme of each day and featured renewed cultural, educational, sports, and social programs, the expansion of digital initiatives for youth and children, and the promotion of national values through modern formats.

On February 26, 2026, KazSRVI employees participated in the strategic session "Foresight for Science and Technology in Kazakhstan: From Data to Decisions," organized by the National Academy of Sciences. The event discussed priority areas for scientific and technological development, the formation of a unified scientific and technological forecasting system, and the implementation of modern analytical tools for strategic decision-making. On December 16, 2025, the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute held an event dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the event, informative reports were presented on the stages of the formation of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an independent state, the achievements of the years of independence, and the historical significance of the events of December 1986. Video materials and visual presentations were also shown.
At the exhibition, which took place on December 12, 2025, in the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, domestic scientific and industrial products and innovative developments of the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute were presented. These were the results of scientific research in the field of veterinary medicine, as well as domestic products for diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic purposes.
On November 27-28, 2025, the international scientific and practical conference "Biological Security in the Face of Global Threats: Scientific and Technical Approaches" was held in Astana, organized by the National company «QazBioPharm». The conference was attended by over 300 specialists from Kazakhstan, France, China, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. Over the course of two days, more than 70 scientific reports were presented, discussing current issues and development prospects in the fields of biological security, medicine, veterinary medicine, microbiology, and pharmaceuticals. Cutting-edge domestic developments were presented at the conference, including test systems, vaccine platforms, and innovative pharmaceuticals ready for commercialization. The event became an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience, and strengthening scientific cooperation, once again demonstrating the high potential of national science.
On November 27, a graduate career fair was held at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University. The Kazakh Veterinary Research Institute participated in the event, showcasing its capabilities to attract qualified young specialists needed by the agricultural sector. The fair covered the following educational programs: veterinary medicine, veterinary sanitation, veterinary food safety and technology, livestock technology, and biotechnology.
From October 14 to 25, 2025, scientists from the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute conducted research within the framework of the grant project “Metagenomic study of the intestinal microbiome of deer and saigas in Kazakhstan: 16S rRNA sequencing and phylogenetic analysis” within the framework of the budget program for 2025-2027 on the territory of the Bokeyorda State Nature Reserve in the West Kazakhstan region.
On October 10, 2025, deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the KazSRVI. The guests got acquainted with the activities of the institute and modern research directions in the field of biological safety. During the meeting, topical issues in this field were discussed, as well as proposals for further development and new scientific initiatives were considered.
On September 26-27, 2025, within the framework of the international conference "Prevention of Infectious Diseases: problems and solutions", held in Uzbekistan at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, KazSRVI scientists participated in the sections. During the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between KazSRVI and Samarkand University.
On August 27, 2025, the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute participated in the celebration of the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayuly and an event entitled “Abai Dara, Abai Dana kazakhta”, aimed at expanding the use of the state language and enhancing its status by glorifying the legacy of the great poet.
In honor of the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute (KazSRVI), an international scientific and practical conference "120 years of Kazakh veterinary science: achievements and new challenges in ensuring biological safety" was held on May 15-16, 2025.
The conference was attended by scientists and veterinary specialists from Kazakhstan, as well as from countries near and far abroad: Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Tajikistan, USA, Switzerland, Italy, China and South Korea. On behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, warm and sincere congratulations were sent to the staff of the Institute in honor of the glorious Anniversary of KazSRVI. These words were read out at the opening of the conference by Zakaria Kunsulu Daltonovna, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Science and Innovation. In 4 breakout sessions: section 1. Topical issues of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infectious, invasive and non-communicable animal diseases; section 2. Biotechnological innovations in the field of biosafety: from research to commercialization; section 3. Molecular biology and genomics of microorganisms: ensuring biological and food safety; section 4. Interdisciplinary approaches in veterinary medicine 52 oral and 5 poster presentations were presented to Science: experience and prospects. An exhibition of achievements and scientific and technical developments (vaccines, diagnostic and other biological products) was organized The Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute and other subsidiaries of JSC “National Holding “QazBioPharm”, as well as products of domestic sponsors – representatives of the business sector. As a result of the conference, an electronic collection of scientific articles based on the materials of the international conference was released, including 126 articles from 7 countries (Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Georgia, Belarus, China, South Korea). It is posted on the official KazSRVI website in the “Conference” tab, subsection “Collection”. An anniversary book has been published – “Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute. The history of creation and development. On the 120th anniversary of its foundation” with historical and modern photo illustrations on 528 pages, 200 copies. According to the results of the conference, the winners were determined from among the young scientists for the best scientific papers and reports. Prizes were awarded to the following participants: a laptop for the first place was awarded to a student of the College of Veterinary Medicine of Seoul National University (South Korea); a Samsung smartphone for the second place was awarded to a master’s degree, a laboratory assistant at the Institute of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology (Georgia); a smartwatch was awarded to 2 domestic participants for the third place – M.Sc. “NPC of Microbiology and Virology” and Junior researcher KazSRVI LLP, Almaty. On May 16, after the end of the conference, an excursion was organized for foreign guests to Kok-Tobe with dinner at the restaurant of national Kazakh cuisine. KazSRVI veterans were invited to the institute, where each was presented with commemorative medals and a book about the history and formation of the institute. Commemorative medals were also awarded to individual guests of the conference, sponsors and employees of KazSRVI. The staff of the Kazakh Research Institute, who made a significant contribution to the development of national science, were solemnly awarded subordinate awards – medals, badges and certificates of honor from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the conference, a number of international agreements and memoranda were discussed and signed with Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, China and South Korea.
